Rwanda Education institutes, Rwanda Universities
Education in Rwanda has come a long way from informal education which was delivered through family and training schools wlocally reffered to as amatorero where military/war skills,ironsmith,pottery,basket making were taught to the now twenty institutions of learning,amongst them public and private institutions.The public universities are:
- National University Of Rwanda(UNR)
Established in 1963 by Father Levesque after Rwanda had attained independence,was the first higher learning institution.It is located in Butare about 35 kilometres from Kigali and can be contacted on:

- KIGALI INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY(KIST)
Is the first public technology institute of higher learning.Established in 1997 as a UNDp,project it was officially inaugurated in 1998.KIST can be contacted on:
